It is lovely. And I think not identifying the speaker is an excellent idea. This could be Lois/Clark, or Perry/Alice, or Jonathan/Martha, or Jimmy/Lucy, or any number of other couples. The ambiguity adds to the sense of mystery. I like it.
Whoever does the GE work on this one won't have to do much. It's just beautiful as is.
