I enjoyed this part very much, Shayne.
From the sound of it, she was coming to believe that he really was from somewhere else. He didn’t have to reveal himself to her to get he help he needed.
In the end, she'll see the proof in the papers when the phone photo gets published and Clark won't have to convince her or reveal them to her. Knowing Lois, she'll be the one encouraging him to use his powers before long.
He could almost imagine himself drifting out over the city as he had many times during his years of wandering, staring out over the endless plain of people and wondering why he alone was set apart.
“Clark?”
He woke suddenly.
I thought for sure Lois had just caught him floating in his sleep here. Too bad.
Great dialogue in this chapter. I'm eagerly awaiting the next part.
