Nice chapter, nice to see Lois taking precautions.
Minor nit-pick; while GPS still needed bulky receivers in 1993, the military version was already in use and the idea was pretty well known, having been militarily important in Desert Storm in 1990.
If it exists in the L&C world at all Clark might not know what a GPS locator was by sight, but he ought to know what GPS is.
So the pigeons don't come from the L&C universe - not surprised, but it suggests that time is going seriously haywire.
