Uh-huh... Danes. I didn't even think of that. My bad. But Danes, really Ann? As a Swede?
It's like a sibling rivalry thing for us in Scandinavia, I think. I live in Malmö, which is like, oh, twenty kilometers from Copenhagen, or something. (Copenhagen, for those of you who didn't know, is the capital of Denmark.) I think Scandinavians from Sweden, Norway and Denmark like to tease each other.
I thought it were still the Germans who are the bad guys throughout Scandinavia and whole Europe. Not to mention the rest of the world, well at least those parts that happen to know that there is something such as Germany.
Yes, that has been a lot worse than teasing. When I was a kid, there were all these action movies where the badguys were always Germans, because, well, the Germans could be assumed to be Nazis, and that way it was safe to assume that they were bad.
Fortunately, here in Sweden at least, younger people don't think that Germans are different from other people. And of course you aren't.
