who could apparently fabricate falsehoods as easily as flying
Nah... not nearly as easily!!
Not that he was ever out of earshot, she reminded herself.
Ouch!!!
When he arrived, he tripped over his own chair and she had to hold back a snide snort, wondering whether she’d actually thrown him or if it was just for her benefit, to reinforce his Clark-Kentness after she’d gotten close to a subconscious Superman connection.
Clark-Kentness!! This gave me a vibe from the Christopher Reeve movies xD
“Why don’t I go pick it up?” he asked quickly.
“I could use the walk,” she said firmly.
“No, really, I don’t mind,” he said with more urgency.
“I don’t either,” she shot back, standing.
They are so ridiculous xDD
“Or maybe that Bruce Wayne is actually the Batman and you’ve tracked him to his super-secret Gotham lair?”
SO CLOSE!
“Well, it’s just that right now it kinda looks like you’re trying to make him crazy.”
She forced down the grin. She wasn’t trying. She was succeeding. And she was about to get the best shrimp shumai she’d ever had out of it, to boot.
LMAO I love Lois's pettiness, sorry not sorry xD Perfect characterization!
It was some kind of garlic-infused, shredded pork on top of thick noodles, all smothered in a lush and spicy, almost too spicy, chili oil. It was savory and heavenly, and her mouth actually watered as she ate it.
Okay now I really want some of that. Damn!
Another fun installment!! I'm really enjoying the deep dive into Lois's head as she processes this! Will be catching up with the rest asap!
