AmandaK, I really appreciate you commenting here! It's still an enormous compliment to hear that you skipped the FDK to hit the next chapter; your enthusiasm is the fun part. <3 Thanks for taking the time to share your favorite moments. And I couldn't articulate it while I was writing but you do it brilliantly here - that Lois' revelation was in slow motion; that's exactly what it was! Anyway, I'm so, so happy that you enjoyed it!

Andreia, wow, the re-read list! That's quite a compliment--thank you! I'm a total push-over for any Egypt story, so I'm glad to find another L&C fan that is, too! I absolutely overdid it on the reference notes, but the story just felt incomplete without it! Thank you for reading and commenting!

Peixinho, yes, I agree that the plight of the Qurnawis is totally unfair. There were decades of opportunities to right these wrongs and it never happened. mecry
...I actually did go through an Incan/Mayan/Aztec phase, so... You never know! I never (ever!) thought I'd write an L&C story in Ancient Egypt! So I won't rule out Matchu Pichu at this point. Maybe that's the third installment if this ends up as a series. wink

Bakasi, thank you for reading and commenting! I really appreciate it!

Anna, I so appreciate you racing through this story (you read so fast!) and commenting on every chapter! Tbh, I feel like I did very little research; just plugged in a lot of things I'd been interested in once upon a time and double checked the details. Thanks so much for all your kind words!

Verity, thank you for commenting so faithfully as you read; I really appreciate it! And tbh, I thought Ancient Egypt was a fairly safe, widespread general interest-but you're absolutely right that I have a deep interest, even a passion, for it. <3 So glad that you liked this story!

Thanks, again, to everyone that read this one! I really had a great time writing it, even though I was doing it at such a crazy pace. I appreciate everyone who left comments throughout!

Looking forward to this summer's Location Challenge! Looks like stories are due around August 1st, and then polls open for voting!

And don't forget about the 2026 fundraiser! Head over to the Fundraising page to donate or consider adding a story to the Keepsake Collection fundraising drive!
