Lois hung back a couple steps as Clark enveloped his mother in his arms. As always, Lois’s heart warmed to see them together; she knew so much of who Clark was could be attributed to the amazing woman standing before them—to her kindness, compassion, and strong sense of morality. And since Jonathan had passed away, they’d grown even closer. Seeing Martha’s joy now, her huge, bright smile lighting up her face, Lois felt tears of joy tickle at her eyes. However, at the same time, she had a sudden sense of foreboding, as though this moment was fragile, delicate, breakable. She stepped up behind Clark, resting her hand gently on his back.

Many actors and actresses have portrayed Ma and Pa Kent, but Eddie Jones and K Callan were perfectly cast in the 90s version of Superman. In my mind they were his parents providing much love for a man who was not born on planet Earth.

Not taking anything away from Glenn Ford and Phyliis Thaxter from the 1978 film.

“Please, Lois, I can’t lose my boy too,” Martha agonized, her hoarse voice full of emotion. “Call me after you’ve talked to him. Please.”

Its scary, visualizing this scene playing out in the Kent's kitchen. Clark, please talk to your wife. Think how all this is affecting Lois and Martha. Maybe... maybe the time has finally come to hang up the cape.

Waiting patiently for the next part.

A writer's job is to think of new plots and create characters who stay with you long after the final page has been read. If that mission is accomplished than we have done what we set out to do, which is to entertain and hopefully educate.
