Hi SuperBek! So glad to see this story on the boards again. Yes, this has been a long, hot summer with lots of people, places and events keeping all of us a little busy.

He placed the last few clothing items into his luggage bag and then pulled out a small rectangular package, wrapped in shiny silver paper. He turned toward her, watching her stuff her used clothes into her own bag. Her dark hair was now nearly dry and fell over her face, hiding her expression from his view. But her body language seemed a bit tense, her movements stiff, again mirroring his own. He stretched out his free hand and gently touched her arm, and she stilled and twisted her head to look at him.

Yup, Lois knows something is going on with her husband. She is being patient and not saying anything because she is waiting for Clark to confess that his health is not as it should be. Like I said before, keeping her in the dark is not a very wise move.

“All the time,” he responded. He wrapped his arms around her from behind and closed his eyes as he pictured his dad’s face, happy and laughing, just as Clark liked to remember him. Not as he’d been in the weeks before his passing, when he’d fallen dreadfully ill from an undiagnosed heart condition. “I know it’s been almost two years now, but I still think about him nearly every day,” he admitted, tightening his hold on her.

Oh no! Jonathan is gone! mecry

His parents had made it to almost forty years before his father had passed away. He pulled back from the kiss and rested his forehead on hers as his shoulders tightened uneasily. Given his own health and . . . situation, he feared he and Lois may not even make it to six years. A shiver ran through him as he pushed the thought away and reached into his pocket to grab his cell phone.

Wait a minute, didn't Bernie say he would be eventually be without his powers if he was exposed to Green-K for a long period! Oh man, I gotta go back to Chapter One. (Morgana dashes off)

Next part? grovel

A writer's job is to think of new plots and create characters who stay with you long after the final page has been read. If that mission is accomplished than we have done what we set out to do, which is to entertain and hopefully educate.
