I like that The story was set in the middle ages . The part where Jerome was jealous of Charles' relationship with Marta made me feel Sorry for him, and also eager to read more about his universe . The part where Four Clarks and a Charles were running around was actually not that confusing, although I did wonder afterwards about where the foot-trap had come from.
Also, I'm actually going to place a guess, as I have a strong gut feeling on this one. The story revolves around a text that no one can decipher; in other words, they "don't know what it means". Therefore, the author is IDon'tKnowWhatThatMeans!
