For the record, you are allowed to nominate your own stories, if you choose to.
I haven't nominated yet this year... what with one thing and another, I haven't read as much this year as I normally would. I'll probably still send in noms from the pool of stories I have read, but I haven't committed myself yet.
There are authors out there that I *expect* will write good stories, but past performance is no guarantee of future quality
And as Lois said, you're only as good as your last story.
