And that was before cell phones were invented. Not at the library I go to! (Although admittedly, I haven't been there in quite a while. Hoping to this summer.) They have a no-cell policy, and while I've occasionally spied people in the stacks or study areas (it's a BIG place) quietly on phones, trying to do so in the face of one of the librarians would almost certainly get you tossed out.
