For those of you who missed the big Kerth Committee announcement tonight at the Kerth Awards ceremony, we thought we'd post the news here.
As you all know, the Kerths have been around for a long time. The first Kerth Awards took place in March of 1998, and it has been wonderful to watch this part of our fandom grow and prosper over the years. Writers and readers alike have enjoyed the excitement of reading, nominating, and voting for the fanfic that our wonderful, talented fanfic writers put their hearts and souls into each year, and we all very much enjoy participating in our online ceremony each year when we celebrate their efforts.
These awards have been a blast for everyone involved...but also a lot of hard work!

EDIT: I'd forgotten a few parts of how our "fellowship"
came to be, and was reminded that Pam has played an even bigger part in these awards than my meager memory could recall. I've tweaked the history portion of this post to reflect that. Thanks for the reminder, my invaluable K-Comm!
