Hi Carrie,

Thanks for commenting. Yes, a double. All will be explained in the next few chapters as it all comes to a head. Yes, I know they've been through a lot but all is not as it seems. thumbsup

A lot happened in that chapter. Why am I thinking that Mayson is dirty and helping put the bad guys back on the streets.

I must be missing something. Did Sam build Corbin? And that is why Clark was hearing those thoughts again?

Interesting tale, and tightly written. I considered it poetic justice that Jimmy, who was so critical of both Clark (for "cheating" on Lois) and Lois (for being blind about her husband's infidelity) had the same thing foisted on him.

But I'm confused on some things - why did double-Clark have no memories at first but double-Jimmy did? Where did the doubles appear, since they didn't seem to be in the same place as the originals? Did the originals have those doubts and fears sucked out of them into the doubles, or were the doubles simply copies of those parts of themselves?

It was good to see Jimmy and Lucy get back together at the end. They both learned some important things about themselves that will help them deal with their relationship with each other.

An evil thought just crossed my mind. What might have happened if a pregnant woman had touched the black crystal? Would the double be pregnant? If so, what negative characteristics could be sucked out of an unborn child? Not saying you should explore that theme, just that you could if you got a visit from one of my muses. (I hope you don't. They're scary at the best of times.)

I'm glad that little Jon is doing well. If something bad had happened to him, I don't know how the FoLCs would have withstood that. And it's a good thing that Clark knows how to get rid of Kryptonite now. It's not foolproof, but it will be a big help to him in the future.

Signing off now. You've not only provided to us all an entertaining story, but you've nudged my muses into some kind of action. I just hope it's good action.

Keep on processing those words!

Hi Terry,

I'm glad you enjoyed this one. Yes I wanted Jimmy to have a way to be able to understand and believe Clark without a shadow of a doubt. I figured the only way to do that was to have it happen to him.

Yeah I guess I should have been a little more clear on that one. So Clark's double didn't have memories at first because of the way he was split. It was an explosion from the Black Kryptonite not just him touching it like it had with Jimmy.

The 'Jimmy' acting out of character was the double at the end. They shared the same memories but were a darker side (the part the originals tried to hide (ie: Jimmy's fears of standing up for himself so the double is overly confident, Clark's fears of not being accepted and having another Bureau 39 situation so he overreacts with criminals and is more forceful). I hope that makes sense anyway.

Yeah I was trying to show the ups and downs in Lucy and Jimmy's relationship. It's not a perfect ending for them but gives hope as they move forward.

Haha that is an evil thought that could turn into an interesting story...

Yeah, LnC have been through enough. I don't think I could have written two bad things happening to both sons. Would have been too hard on everyone. Yeah, I totally stole black K from Smallville. (the few episodes I actually watched and in the show when Clark hit the K with his heat vision it became a harmless diamond/ crystal (can't remember exactly) so my muse went to work and decided to put it into Lnc's world. I think it turned out pretty well and gave Clark the upperhand at least if he comes across it again.

Thanks for the FDK Terry. Glad you enjoyed it and I could nudge your muse a little. Who knows what can happen when reading, right? thumbsup
