can anybody tell me the song clark puts on in the bedroom just before he deals with the terrorists in ' I've Got You Under My Skin '
Posted By: gr8shadesofElvis Re: what is that song? - 07/31/07 12:29 PM
To my credit I did actually put the dvd in and listen to the song. But sorry, not a clue. huh
Posted By: LabRat Re: what is that song? - 07/31/07 01:38 PM
It's been so long since I watched an episode that I have no clue either. But if you have a line of lyrics, gr8shadesofElvis, you can put that into Google, add 'lyrics' after it and Google will probably come up with the title and artist for you.

Worth a go anyway.

I'm sorry. I have no idea huh
Posted By: LabRat Re: what is that song? - 08/01/07 07:35 AM
Does anyone have the full lyrics? For some reason, I have the notion that the song was something very familiar and well-known when I heard it in the episode (though I could be wrong, given how long it's been since I heard it laugh )

If I saw the lyrics, perhaps it would jog something in my memory.

No promises, mind you. <G>

Posted By: malu Re: what is that song? - 08/01/07 11:03 AM
Does anybody know where I can find a clip of that scene (or does anyone have the clip and can post)? I don't have Season 4 in DVD and can't remember.

You can get the episodes in MP3 format - if that helps?
See here...

I listened to it this morning and while I can make out the lyrics, I don't recognize the voice and I'm sure I've never heard the song before.

I did lots of Google'ing and while I did come up with possible titles, I did not find audio clips or full lyrics for the songs I found, so it's impossible to tell if it's one of them. *shrugs*

Sorry.

I completely forgot about the episode MP3s. Thanks, LaraMoon. Now, can anyone pinpoint at about what time in the show the scene comes on? blush

Hi malu!

I forgot how funny this clip is... the kiss is nice if you pretend that it's really Clark - but his reactions are so funny!

Actually, the clip you posted only plays a little part of the song, DJ. I downloaded the episode in MP3 and located the whole part that has the song in it. I'm editing it to just about over a minute and just need to find a place to post it and put it here so anyone can listen. It does have a lot of saxophone (I think) playing.

It doesn't sound familiar to me, the song nor the singer.

malu huh

Ooops! Sorry about that. I didn't realize there was more. I just remembered the music when Clark turned on the radio. I was thinking that was the end of it when the news bulletin came on.

And I have absolutely no idea what the song is... sorry.

OK, let me try this:

song extracted from episode MP3

If anyone wants to try and identify the song, the MP3 of the part where the song goes on in the episode is above.

i have to say guys, thank you so much for all the help. keep it up lol
Posted By: LabRat Re: what is that song? - 08/01/07 01:48 PM
Hmmmm. Nope...never heard it before. Gee, my memory sucks. goofy

You know though, just listening to it, it's pretty generic, it's mostly instrumental and the lyrics are very few and not exactly memorable. All of which is making me wonder if it wasn't something specially written for the show rather than an actual song. It would be cheaper for them to do that - no royalties to pay to an artist for their song.

So maybe it doesn't exist outwith the episode?

i was just gona say that. id laff and cry if it turned out to be that Mr. T lookalike you sometimes see milling around. do u know who i mean
Posted By: Dandello Re: what is that song? - 08/01/07 02:27 PM
There's no mention of a song in the end credits - normally real music is given a credit (title, artist, copyright, info). Therefore, it's almost certainly a snippet that was recorded for the show. (And the voice sounds an awful lot like 'the cryin' man' Rembrandt Brown (I don't recall the actor's name.)

ya know... I watched the bit of clip that DJ put up - and I guess I'm probably setting myself up to be thrown tomatoes at, but ... eeewww! I'm so not sorry I've never seen that episode.

I stopped watching the show when it first aired, right around the time of either the clone-arc or the NK when I started feeling like "someone killed my show!!" I haven't yet gotten around to watching the entire set of S4 DVDs.... for various reasons, one of which is "but I don't want it to end!!" and another is "gah, some of these eps are so bad!"

Two minutes worth of clip and I'm right back there thinking someone killed my favorite show... is everything after the "Lois and Clarks" episode just as bad as this??

OMG! Are you in for a treat! Prepare yourself - in a few short weeks you'll be treated to Sue's Season Four. It only takes an hour to go through 20+ episodes. You'll learn, as I have, that there's no "plot" to the fourth season. It's just a series of excuses for them to kiss and take his shirt off.

I find I'm happier about the fourth season this way.

Back on topic - I never thought that was a real song. It was just too cheesy to be true in a fake jazz sort of way. Then again, I'm so distracted by the leather pants that it's difficult to concentrate on anything else. laugh

No. It's worse. Much, much worse.

A full hour of Clark with his shirt off? rotflol

The mind boggles, doesn't it?

I must remember to pack an oxygen tank...

ETA: You know what? I can't help but read that as "Clark with his shrit off..." <giggles> That is totally going to become my new mild swear word: "Oh shrit!"
Posted By: LaraMoon Re: what is that song? - 08/02/07 08:24 PM
Hahaha! Now you'll have me going "oh shrit" too. wink (and seeing a shower scene in my head all the time because that typo always does that to me)

I wonder how long the clip would last if I put all the shirtless scenes back to back (or arm to arm... *drool*) -- I just might have to try.

I never saw any of the songs credited on L&C, real or otherwise.

Speaking of songs that were just written for the show, how about the song on the radio in Neverending Battle when Clark is painting his new apartment?
Posted By: Kal-El Re: what is that song? - 08/03/07 03:08 AM
Err topless clark fans, lets not turn it into a soft porn thread. lol i was trying to think of another instance where they play music . anyone know the radio music. if anyone does at least we might have a chance of finding out what the other song is
Posted By: malu Re: what is that song? - 08/03/07 10:23 AM
I am cutting the episode MP3 for the radio song in Neverending Battle. It sort of sounds familiar, but maybe they made it that way on purpose. smile

Here's the song:

Lara and Sue: You realize it is remarks like the two of you have made in this thread that make me love the both of you so much. Oh the giggle I just had. And now I can't wait for this Sue version of season 4. I hope you are serious and not being a tease. LOL

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels the same way about the series from that point on. I always feel like someone is going to yell at me for it.

oooh... I believe she meant she was going to be showing it to me "live" in a few short weeks -- I'm flying to her part of the world at the end of the month. (*insert ear-shattering SQUEE right here* !!) -- but hey, I'm sure we can manage to get that made into something to share with the rest of you. wink

Malu - I listened to the clip, Google'd several excerpts from the lyrics, but I didn't come up with any song that matched them...

One ep that I'm 99.9% sure we'd find the songs from on the net is "Wall Of Sound" -- Michael DesBarres is a real actual singer. And I'll betcha he sang some of his real actual songs, from some of his albums. He's the guy who replaced Robert Palmer at the head of Power Station -- hopefully that band rings a bell with at least one person here... They were one of the two "spin offs" from Duran Duran. (darn these guys were cute...) *lol* It should also be noted that DesBarres played the insanely annoying bad guy, Murdoc, on MacGuyver where he's teamed up with a character named Penny Parker a few times - who, it so happens, was played by Teri Hatcher. (my head is filled with useless tv-trivia such as this...)

So she was being a tease.

Shame shame.
