KathyB was talking about this older fic… and now I’m dying to find it and re-read it, but we can’t remember the title!

Totally unrelated, but the description of the fic makes me think of a movie called The Gamers that has a similar event in it...it's absolutely hilarious and geeky!

Makes me think of that old gag in the Dinosaurs TV show of the 90s, where the scientist would blow up his assistant - "We're going to need another Timmy!"

Jimmy deathfic? I think I'd start by typing "Tank Wilson" into the search bar.

Shallowford—LOL! That should have been the first place I looked! I scrolled through the blurbs for allllllll of Tank’s fics and even looked through some of the more promising sounding ones…and still no dice.

In The Gamers the one player just keeps playing the same character. Character gets killed he just makes an identical one. His character also gets killed a lot because he is bad at it and the GM doesn't care because it is always the same one. So in a big fight after his bards been killed about 20 times he hides behind the ple of dead bards so he won't get hit again.

Did anyone try putting Jimmy and deathfic into the search bar in the Fanfic Darabase on the Archive? I tried but there’s no search facility from my iPad. Worth a try, maybe?
