QUIZ SPOILER!! Close your eyes if you haven't taken the quiz yet!

What's interesting about 'supersede' is that the derivation is this:

Quote
Middle English superceden, to postpone, from Old French superceder, from Latin supersedre, to refrain from : super-, super- + sedre, to sit; see sed- in Indo-European Roots.
So anyone who thought it was spelled 'supercede' is, in one sense, even more right than the rest of us. wink

Yvonne
It's not spelled supercede???? But, but, but... man, just when I thought I was doing pretty good, you have to go and throw that at me...

*goes off to sob in a corner*

PJ
who's main exposure to this word was in the game of Payday... "Supercede your old seeds with new improved Superseeds!" goofy
Who shall I believe, some quiz, or Merriam Webster ?
Twin, I love you!
