Oh DC, it fits perfectly. My first thought was Lois and her lack of cooking skills but figured Clark would assure her that he would do the cooking, then thought Lois and her plant killing skills but could not figure out how that would stop Clark from marrying her and then staggered to the finish (punch) line!

There was a split second at the end where I genuinely thought Martha could be a serial killer, and in that moment I saw the heart of darkness... And then I died laughing, because it was hilarious and of course Martha is a plant killer! Poetic too. Boys do tend to marry their Mama's.

She could also be an exterminator? Is that an alt-beginning where Lois is an exterminator servicing the rural areas of Kansas and making a stop in Smallville to clean out a termite-infestation in the barn?
