I'm still sticking to my every third day posting schedule, so Part 28 will post by August 4th. Sorry, it's canning season and both blackberries and peaches are coming in early this year, so I've gotten busy in RL this week catching up on my jam. Oh, and I'm also working on one of my Summer Ficathon stories... so I apologize for not using my extra day for catching up. blush I'll try harder this week. wink

I loved the end of this story, where Superman becomes the good fairy for the Kents. That big old guy in tights and a cape, and he's hoping to not be noticed on top of a barn?

Love it!

I LOVE Martha and Jonathan... and I have a crazy (?) idea: they know that Superman helps them in Smallville, and I think they saw the byline of "Clark Kent" in the Planet. What if they understand that Clark Kent is Superman? Just a guess..

Love Martha realizing Superman is helping them. Hope we get to read more of this.

Ok I am really loving where this story is going now. I really liked the Jimmy thing even though I usually don't like a whole big thing about Jimmy in these stories and I loved the whole Martha realizing Superman is her secret admirer. I hope you post the next chapter really soon! Laura

Wow! You all loved the Martha and Jonathan scene. smile1 Thank you. I'm beginning to think maybe I should have written an Alt-Clark gets new adoptive parents story. wink

Pat: Thanks for the comment. Gee, the poor man can't catch a break, can he? He suspects that he has a moment to watch a sunset, while the Kents get ready for bed, but this is one night Martha takes a peek out her old bedroom window... and catches him being human.

Sydney: Glad you loved M&J.

What a crazy idea! Yes, what if? [Linked Image]

Joan: Just a peek through the Smallville window to let you know that Clark hasn't forgotten the Kents, before we take another turn on our Metropolis roller coaster, I'm afraid. Don't worry, they'll have their day. hyper (And, [Linked Image], thus endith -- mostly -- our cameo from Jimbo... for now. And our alt-Love-Triangle -- Lucy & the Jimmys Triangle, that is.)

I loved the whole Martha realizing Superman is her secret admirer.
Martha's not blind or stupid. She realized it from the get-go. I figured they deserved some pampering after what I did to their (Clark and his folks) relationship in Another Lois.

“Come on in; it’s open,” he called, figuring whoever it was would be friendly, being that his neighborhood was known more for being where the criminals lived, not worked.

Quote
“I got a call this evening from my father. He wanted to check up on Jimmy Olsen, who had been beaten up by Tommy ‘The Torturer’ Garrison,” Lucy said, stating the facts he already knew.
She must have gone bonkers over that.

Quote
I couldn’t believe that Lois hadn’t called me.”
How inconsiderate of her sister to not inform her that her boyfriend’s cousin has been beaten to a pulp.

Quote
“I care because I’ve been dating Jimmy all summer!” she retorted.
clap

Quote
Jimmy was glad to see she wasn’t the dullest knife in the drawer.
Well, her sister lets her use her wet-stone once in a while.

Quote
She must be an angel.

Quote
“Do you want to watch that new show about the colonists on that underwater submarine?”
SeaQuest DSV? The timeline would fit. But they weren’t colonists.

Quote
“Are you flirting with me?” Lucy teased, pointing a finger at him. Nope, there was no fooling a Lane woman.
She’s adorable!

Quote
“Hey! What’s going on here?”
Umm…beat up seconds?

Quote
“Is he why you never invited me over here?” she asked, her hands on her hips. “Were you afraid I’d dump you for your good-looking cousin with the same name?”
No, that was because they’ve long since stopped hiding their porn.

Quote
James sighed into the couch with a smile. What had Lucy said? “You only nag those you care about.” He could live with a little nagging from Lucy Lane.

It never arrives. He's well drugged.

Quote
Wouldn’t it be fun if she *were* a dream and punched him, too?
Give her time.

Quote
Always clean your apartment like you’re married to a Stepford Wife when you’re single and looking for company.
Nah, that might make the woman suspicious. You need to leave just enough of a mess that she can see you quickly clean it up when she arrives, otherwise she thinks you have another woman coming over to clean. (Read: girlfriend or mother)

Quote
She must have gone bonkers over that.
Hence why she crossed the tracks.

Quote
How inconsiderate of her sister to not inform her that her boyfriend’s cousin has been beaten to a pulp.
Exactly! [Linked Image]

Quote
Well, her sister lets her use her wet-stone once in a while.
It makes Lois feel smarter if Lucy isn't quite as sharp.

Quote
“Maid’s cost money. We don’t have any.”
Muscles don't. But I see, you don't have any of those either.

Quote
sponge baths? Or car washing?
Don't give him any ideas.

Quote
Both. There was a woman present.
clap laugh I love how a woman has to be present for a man to be both.

Quote
Aaaaand? Superman’s less of a man than Lois once she finds out the truth.
After?

Quote
He thought she looked cute?
Drugs making him slow?

Quote
Jimmy’s already bored and moving on? I mean, he apparently managed to drive off a lot of girls on the show which he originally managed to date.
Been there, done that. Next! Isn't the cow in the next farmer's field more attractive to the bull, because he hasn't had it yet? And it's not his to have?

Quote
Plus, I’m thinking she took his ‘whatever’ as a dismissal.
Possibly.

Quote
He did? Now that’s tough luck. OTOH, he probably just hopes that Lois will make a man out of him.
He now lives in town and can come visit at any time, and pop up for cameo whenever I need some interruptus.

Quote
SeaQuest DSV? The timeline would fit. But they weren’t colonists.
Two Points! (The show on opposite LnC, which is why Jimmy didn't want to watch it. wink ) Neither was ST:NG or Prometheus (technically) but they both had kids living onboard, so I changed their designation.

Quote
She’s adorable!
She gets it from her sister.

Quote
Umm…beat up seconds?
They're easier to catch.

Quote
No, that was because they’ve long since stopped hiding their porn.
That and because none of them wanted to play the Stepford Wife.

Ooops, ran out of Smilies.

Yes, okay. You’ve made your point that you’re setting James up to move with Lucy back to California where he will attend CalTech and be a founder of one of the late-nineties Internet rush companies, make a fortune and later be taken for half of it when Lucy divorces him for the pool boy Alexander Luthor Jr.
I am? [Linked Image] And really, Lex Jr? razz

Bro-code, man. Bro-code. This is so not cool, man.
Who broke the Bro-Code first? Anyway, I loved the idea of Jimmy interruptus Jimmy. Really, I'm pathetic, I was howling with laughter. Sometimes, I'm easy to please. Sadly, others aren't.

Quote
Kind of. A bit like Anakin did at the end of Episode 2.
Yes, but they don't know that. /Saw a hilarious book in a store today and thought of you. It's called: Darth Vader and Son It's about Darth raising a 4 year old Luke. clap Pretty much.

Actually, that’s how girls in Kindergarten express their affection.
And after Sam Lane had a sit down with Stan Dunkle, Lois didn't have that opportunity again... Oh, wait, that was Missing Lois. Sorry. wink

Quote
Umm…why is the government allowing the network to air such drivel? Can’t they censor it or have them arrested or shut down or something?
First Amendment.

Quote
It’s an option?
Not with this Superman.

Quote
Why is he ‘wondering’? Isn’t that a Tempus-Duh question?
Publically, Lex Luthor is very Pro-Superman. Privately, LLN reporters notice a bonus in their checks whenever they bash the man. After a couple of months, they're starting to notice the pattern. It's not official though.

Quote
So much for them not knowing about a super-powered stalker. He really is adorably naive.
What? He can't stalk Lois 24/7. He has do something during some of those other hours of the day. And, yes, he's thought he's being very subtle, not thinking they'd notice the newspapers in which his gifts are wrapped.

Quote
It’s a Kryptonian thing. They charm the husband of the woman they want to take as a concubine. Or a mother. Depending on the situation.

Quote
No. But I’m sure she could justify it by both her sister twotiming Clark and Superman and her sister forfeiting both Clark and Superman, thus leaving Lucy to pick up the statistical slack.
Doesn't Lois have to one-time before she can two-time?

Quote
/looks around innocently/ What?

Isn’t that a bit paranoid of him?
Him? As in Alt-Clark where his parents have died, and his adoptive parents have died, and his ex-fiancee got kidnapped because well she was his ex-fiancee and because he spent the last year being followed everywhere and his apartment being broken in so often he had to move out. So, no.

Quote
I mean, he doesn’t know that Lex is actually stalking Lois and has her shower bugged. He did have bugs planted in her apartment all those weeks ago, hasn’t he?

I’m sure President Doe will correct that.
But will there *be* a President Doe in this dimension? This Tempus is currently, well, non-existant.

Hey, not everyone at the same time. There's a *line*, people. No, we'll only take *one* Tempus. I don't care how many babies he ate, he'll be evaluated on temporal craziness alone.
