MMMMmmmmm. Yummy. Tasty.  Thank goodness that Clark is blessed with infinite patience. It's probably best if Clark cooks the rice. After 15+ years of marriage (and countless lessons), my hubby (a professional chef) still can't believe my ability to always make rice sticky.  It sounds like Lois has already completely forgotten about Claude. LOIS: <<to reader>> Who? <<to culinary instructor Clark>> So, do you know how to make anything chocolate? I wonder if this is where Clark would have ended up if he had showed up at the DP before Claude had been summarily sacked (or shifted DP offices).

A delight from first the word to the last.
I especially liked the rescuing banter at the end.
I'd write more, but there is an incoming thunderstorm, and I want to unplug my computer now. (That last clap of thunder sounded pretty near.)

"How is chicken romantic?" she demanded.  That's not something you expect to hear every day. I like how Lois tries to steamroller him, and he just isn't having it. He's going to make her help cook and enjoy it whether she likes it or not. I'm wondering whether Clark is still going to be there when Claude arrives, thereby driving a wedge between them, or if Clark will leave in time but treat her so well that Lois recognizes what a jerk Claude is in comparison. Or maybe both. I'm guessing that his plans that didn't work out were that he tried to get a job at a newspaper but failed. I like that he recognizes Lois and knows her by reputation, and I wonder if it's going to come up that he's also an aspiring journalist. I imagine that if she were to find that out, she would be instantly suspicious of his being there instead of Mrs. Spangler. He could be trying to get into her good graces to weasel his way into a job, after all. (Not that he would do that, of course, but Lois would assume that.)

It seemed a bit odd that Lois kept on thinking of and calling her "Mr. Kent". I was really that by the end they were Lois and Clark. They are making good progress. I especially liked all the touching.

Artemis If I counted right there should be 4 more parts. This was only 2, so there should be 3, 4, 5 and 6 left. I really hope we do not see Claude actually show up.

The only fly in the ointment is Claude.  I hope that he'll call and cancel again, and Lois'll ask Clark to stay and eat with her. :rolleyes: That would be a perfect way to spend a Valentine evening  More soon, please.

When I read part one, my heart was in my throat. Just the mention of Claude is enough to raise my hackles! Now that 'Mr. Kent has arrived, the story is taking a decidedly yummy turn.  Guidance? Lois studied Mr Kent for a moment as an idea curled through her mind. He looked blandly nice. Innocent. Gullible. Lois made a sweeping gesture around her kitchen. "I'll leave you to it." She picked up the folders of story notes and headed for her bedroom.
With a quick movement, the cooking teacher stepped in front of her, blocking her path.
"What?" she barked.
"Mrs Spangher said I was to cook with you, not for you." Sooo glad Mr. Kent stood up to her rather than cook the meal for her. It has always bothered me that Lois was so helpless in the kitchen. All it takes is a little time, patience and a willingness to learn. It does not hurt to have a super cute instructor either! When are you serving up the third course?
