Yay! Wonderful chapter, as usual. I loved how Lois revealed she was pregnant (and am I allowed to say "I called it"? ) I saw my doctor the day before that. Clark, Dr. Klein was wrong."
Clark opened his eyes, though his vision was out of focus again. The exertion of the fight had weakened his body and allowed the poison to do greater damage to him than it otherwise would have.
"Wrong?" he murmured, not comprehending.
Lois nodded, though Clark could barely make out the movement with his fuzzy vision. "We can have...we are having...a baby. We're about three or four weeks along. Or were, before Tempus kidnapped us." Aaaaww... Though I do smell ideas for an interesting fic or challenge... Can't wait for and simultaneously dreading the arrival of the next and final part! ~~ SJT ;P

I had the reveal written in my head well before I'd even had Clark captured by the gladiator traders. So, as for the time travel quandry. Um...I actually thought about that too. Sad to say, I haven't a clue. I guess the baby would continue to grow as normal? The last chapter will go up on Sat (if I have time) or on Sun. I do have another fic being beta'd at the moment, but it's nowhere near as fun and light as this one.

I love it.
My vote is to leave Tempus there.
With no time window and no firearm he's just another man that can be put into servile labor. Better than he deserves.
He sure wouldn't last in the arena. To quote Lois he "hits like a girl".

Great part! I'm so glad Lois and Clark are back together. Wonderful way to let him know that they're expecting (coincidentally, I love how you had her saying 'we' all the way through). I was a bit disappointed that Clark didn't get to see Ren again, but at least Xena told him Clark's name so that he knows his friend was thinking of him. And, I have to admit that I was wondering why we had needed the thief if we could just get the time-window from Tempus, but of course, it had to break! I do wonder what Xena and Gabrielle are thinking of Lois and Clark at this point and all the differences they've seen in them now. Only one more part? Looking forward to seeing how they get home!

Only one more part? Looking forward to seeing how they get home! Hiya Anti-K! Glad you enjoyed it. Of course it's a "we." Clark *is* the one who'll be flying out to Italy in the middle of the night when Lois gets a sudden craving for gelato! I toyed around with what I was going to do with Ren. I contemplated having her rescue them both in the arena at first but it made no sense whatsoever because it let Tersius off the hook. So I went with a private search-and-rescue at the compound so that I could have Tersius be threatened (and look, I managed to *not* kill a bad guy!) I wanted Ren to know that Clark kept good on his word, even if he wasn't able to be the one to free him. As for Autolycus - I didn't just write him in because he's an awesome character (and *totally* hot ). Unfortunately, only one more part. I'm kinda sad as well. I really loved working on this. But as you already know, I had another fish to fry with the completion of this one. Who knows? Maybe I'll one day be inspired to revisit the crossover in a new story. Maybe set in Metropolis this time (and with less bloodshed as a result).

As a hypothetical quandry, though, what would time traveling do to a baby? Turn the kid part timelord? I've been loving this! I just wish it were longer. Tara

"Poisoned?" Lois repeated, her voice small and shaky.
Xena gave her a distracted half-smile. "Don't worry. I can make the antidote." Oh? No need to get the evil poisoner? Lois immediately thought of Clark's increased Kryptonian metabolism and wondered if his body had been burning off the poison faster than it could harm him. It seemed to be a logical conclusion. Hmm... yeah... if his system is breaking down the complex molecules, but if it's absorbing them like it does with alcohol, then he gets sick really fast but he might also metabolize it soon thereafter. Question is, will it do too much damage in between Almost over Michael

/Feels oddly reminded of Home Is Where The Hurt Is/ *admits to absolutely loving that episode* Superpowers really are sexually transmittable. /hovers a centimeter over the bed/ See? STSP? (Sexually Transmitted Super Powers) Sign me up! You slept with Jimmy? *SCNR* And Oh, and, aside from leading us astray, why has Lois attributed her morning-sickness to everything but morning-sickness when she already knew the reason? She's new at this and didn't expect to get sick so soon? Also, I am evil and wanted people to second guess the pregnancy prediction. Ooooo are you putting this at the beginning of the sequel? Um, not exactly. The sequel is set in 2011, so baby Kent is already like 12. Now, that's harsh. This is Rome! What else is he supposed to do? Uh, well...you'll see in the ending disclaimer. He got off easy? Say, did he make a mess of things just about now? Quite possibly. Although, given the circumstances, it's just as likely they will become a band of marauding pillagers... Oh well... Sadly, not in the Xenaverse. That's because you plan too elaborate. If you want them dead, flash to a small barren island or maybe even the Antarctic and be gone before they catch their breath. That way, they get to freeze to death or starve to death and that's it. But know, you have to toy with them. So, stop complaining. It's your own fault. Yes. And this is why we love Tempus. He really isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, is he? Not so much. But he's delightfully evil, so he gets a free pass. I'll bet that wasn't in the history books. *strides away, whistling innocently* Almost over Well laid out! Thank you very much!

The sequel is set in 2011, so baby Kent is already like 12. Ooooooo Imagines Junior running to Lois, all excited: Mommy Mommy, there's Nexa and Arielle in the living room. They look like they jumped right out of the TV while chasing Mallisto! Michael
