New the dreaded "haicut" had to come into the story at some point. Cute. Laura

Poor Kae. I am surprised, Tank, that you didn't give a haircut to a certain Irish university professor. smile

The fact that you wrote this epilogue surprised no one, though. Nice way to include the little bit with Bruce Wayne, but on IRC, we all knew you were going to put in an epilogue just to give Lois that haircut after Wendy circumvented it in Part 3.

Nice job.

Do you know the most surprising thing about divorce? It doesn't actually kill you, like a bullet to the heart or a head-on car wreck. It should. When someone you've promised to cherish till death do you part says, "I never loved you," it should kill you instantly.

Tank... Tank, Tank, Tank... Tank, Tank, Tank, Tank, Tank... Tank, Tank, Tank, Tank, Tank, Tank, Tank...

What am I going to do with you? First, I think I'll start off by throwing a bucket of red paint at you (aiming at the beard). Then I might use the disembowelling shears to chop you into tiny pieces and be used as a colour powder for the next haircut-customer around. goofy

- I'm your partner. I'm your friend.
- Is that what we are?
- Oh, you know what? I don't know what we are. We kiss and then we never talk about it. We nearly die frozen in each other's arms, but we never talk about it, so no, I got no clue what we are.

ROFL, Tank!! goofy You should have seen Kaethel's face when she'd read it!

I'm glad to see that you advanced Luc's relationship with Bruce a little. If those two stay together, I could see family reunions being kind of... interesting. goofy Especially if you take Maria's suggestion and Luc becomes Robin...

Now, I couldn't help but notice that you missed out a couple of lines at the end of this epilogue, however. I can only suppose that you were so keen to post it that you didn't copy and paste the whole instalment. So just for the benefit of the gentle readers who missed out on the final lines, I'll paste them below.

Quote
"This is perfect. The new shop will be up and running soon, and that gives me the means to give you a most excellent wedding present."

Lois' look was guarded. "What."

Lucy reached over and gave Lois' long dark locks a tug. "A good haircut."

Lois gave her sister a bright smile. "That's a great idea, Lucy! I guess I could use a trim - but nothing shorter. Clark really, really prefers my hair down around my shoulders. I'll bring a photo with me to show you what I want. But what would be really terrific would be if you could take Luc in hand - his hair's a mess!"

Lucy nodded. "Yeah, I've been itching to get my scissors at him for weeks!"

"Great!" Lois raised her glass in Lucy's direction. "But you know what? Now that Luc and I are... well, paired off, we need to find someone for you. And I know just the person! We'll invite Jimmy to the wedding!"

Lucy considered for a moment, then grinned impishly. "Only if I can give him a haircut first!"

Well-done, Tank...as expected smile

Although I still insist that there is potential for a sequel, or a series, out of this one...

*snicker* I loved the epilogue. Poor, poor Kae. I can only imagine the horror of the haircut. Oy. At least there wasn't a curly perm to go with the color! And then Wendy had to get in the last word.. actually going on with the haircut, and dragging Jimmy into it! I love it!

goofy How did you come up with the name of that intern? It sounds vaguely familiar ... laugh

And Wendy's "epilogue to the epilogue" was brilliant ... you guys *have* to leave that in! LOL!

Awesome story, you two!! One of your best challenge stories, I daresay, and that's saying a lot!

Hi,

Great piece. thumbsup

Lucy blushed. "Yeah, I feel a little guilty about that. I didn't know my instructor was going to spring a color job on me, and top it off with a pixie cut. I thought the poor woman was going to faint when he read off what I was supposed to do." Lucy smiled at the memory. "But Kaethel was a trooper. She didn't say a word as I cut off most of her hair, and then made her look like a lost child of Bozo the Clown."

Lois: Well, I like my quirks. I think they make me unique.
Clark: You certainly are unique.

Clark: You're high maintenance, you know that?

I tried to post a response this morning before going to work, but the phone lines burpted and threw me off line, losing my post before I could send it. I didn't have time to rewrite it so I'm coming back know.

Let it be known that my original intention had been what everyone expected. An epilogue titled "Lucy's Revenge" but I held back. Given that Wendy was such a gracious trooper when I threw the story back at her, I decided that it would only be fair to let her win this one. So, being a darn nice guy, I left Lois with her long hair. And no matter what Lucy said, at the end of the story Lois still has her long locks. What can I say? I'm just a darn nice guy (where have I heard that before?)

BUT... we still had to deal with Lucy's final exam cut. I mean we all knew that Ellen Lane would never go through with something like that no matter how much she might pretend to support her daughters. That left Lucy without a model for her final. Who better to step in and help Lucy out than a gal who most wanted to save Lois' hair? Kae, has always been a staunch supporter of a longer haired Lois. So, if Lois was to keep her own lengthy locks, someone had to lose theirs.

I'm sure all the long-haired Lois fans will be grateful to Kaethel for her own minor sacrifice, which allowed Lois to escape a similar fate.

So gentle readers, let's hear it for Kaethel. I guess she's just a darn nice gal.
