I just answered my own challenge and brought the word count down to seven.

Anyone for writing a story of six words or less? smile

I was just thinking today of how long it's been since we had a proper Tank ending. Ah! It feels good.

For another Tank ending, how about:

Jimmy interrupted Lois's haircut.
"Superman's dead!"

rotflol rotflol rotflol

But a better Tank ending might be this one:

Jimmy interrupted Lois's haircut. "Jimmy, you're dead!"

I know, I know, it's longer than six words, but it felt more Tank-y to me! laugh

Brava! You beat my record* AND got in the haircut (not to mention a "Jimmy interruptus" of sorts)! clap

*Or tied it, depending on whether "Superman's" counts as one word or two -- I'm not sure how contractions would count for this.

Hmm...My ten word haiku is starting to seem positively verbose!

I'll try for one fewer word here, with a non-Tank story...It's either five or six words, depending on how you count contractions. It's a very brief alternate take on the last scene of AtAI.

-----

"I'm Superman. Marry me?"
"Yes!"

-----

Anyone up to the challenge of writing either a four word story, or a five word one with no contractions?

cheers,
Lynn

I keep trying to come up with a happy story, but the sad ones are so much easier:

Wells goofed. Utopia cancelled.

I think we are, however, starting to run out of A-plot. And Ann, your story is better than mine.

Excellent!

Hmmm...How about a revelation story in which a "wardrobe malfunction" reveals Clark's special suit underneath?

---
Shirt rips.
"Superman!?!?"
---

Three words. Anyone for two? wink

cheers,

Athos: If you'd told us what you were doing, we might have been able to plan this properly.
Aramis: Yes, sorry.
Athos: No, no, by all means, let's keep things suicidal.
