FDK goes here . Next post: Monday Chapter 7 Preview He went to Lois' room, gathered his things and took a quick shower, changing into shorts and a T-shirt when he was done. His tux was hanging in a bag in Lois' closet. It wouldn't take him long to actually get dressed even without using his gifts.
He headed out into the living room. "All done."
He looked up to see Lois standing there with his laptop open and his notes in her hand. He couldn't read the look on her face.
"What were you thinking?" Thanks . Carol

Ha! I was waiting for the interview. And Lucy has great timing.

Great stuff, worked out much better than I had hoped. <g> Throwing Lucy in the mix is brilliant. She will help her sister realize just what she has with Clark can be real. Looking forward to that! Uh oh, guess she won't be happy that Clark is trying his luck at the Planet. But since she probably ran off the other guy, there is an opening, right? Natascha

Carol, Carol, Carol, I thought we’d been over this the last time. Using the preview as the next part’s cliffhanger is not a part of the rules. More? Please? "But you're sleeping with him," Lucy said quietly.
"What makes you say that?"
"Come on. He just got out of the shower. He's borrowing your toothpaste. You don't let *me* use your toothpaste." Not to mention the little Kryptonian causing Lois to regularly loose last night’s supper. Okay, I’d better stop quoting now. The bed-stuff was so sweet and then you did the already widely expected Planet thing. OMG!!! BTW, Lucy is Jimmy’s girlfriend? You don’t pull any punches, do you? Michael, hoping for a daily schedule before long.

Nice part. I am delighted that Clark is staying with Lois and has been completely upfront about his family history. Did Clark bring the photo album? Can Lucy please find it when Lois and Clark are not home? Chapter 7 Preview posted by carolm: His tux was hanging in a bag in Lois' closet. It wouldn't take him long to actually get dressed even without using his gifts. OK clearly Clark did NOT get a job with the Planet. He is of course going with Lois as her escort to Lex Luthor's White Orchid Ball. At least this lets us know they are still on good terms. Evil cliffhanger preview. Chapter 7 Preview posted by carolm: He looked up to see Lois standing there with his laptop open and his notes in her hand. He couldn't read the look on her face.
"What were you thinking?" But I don't think it is going to be bad. Clearly Lois has found Clark's notes and first draft of the Theater story she didn't feel in the mood to write.

Oh, really great. I'm glad they got beyond the "I'm not talking to you" part. More soon! Artemis

Don't be so surprised, Lois. You know he's a reporter and you know he has an interview. Or do you think a hack from Nowheresville couldn't even consider the Planet? Or, more likely I guess, that a drifter would go for such a high-caliber permanent position. See? He's not a drifter. And "You wear it to keep women away?" was priceless.

Another great chapter. I like the totally different vibe there is when Clark doesn't have to keep his secret, when Lois knows right from the beginning. "So you remember that I'm... different?" He still didn't look at her. It seems as if there hasn't been any discussion about her publishing the secret - obviously. First, she's pregnant with his child. Second, in the absence of Superman, it's not as newsworthy. Certainly an alien would be newsworthy, but all we have is a good-looking guy who says he's an alien. No proof. Right? I like how you capture Clark's hesitancy (and fear!) about revealing himself, all in that one little line. And now he was staying with her for a few days.
That *did not* mean he was going to end up in her bed. Even if he was her husband. Tee-hee! So you say, Lois, but you are at the mercy of the Queen of Tantalizing Moments. Again, great move bringing Lucy into the mix. She forces L&C to sleep in the same bed. And poor Lois! Her apartment is Grand Central Station - everyone that comes to Metropolis hangs out in Lois's apartment! He's borrowing your toothpaste. You don't let *me* use your toothpaste."
"That's because you squeeze it in the middle." Go, Lois! That's my pet peeve too! And the preview: I have found, that when someone asks, "What were you thinking?" - never a good sign. Argument to follow. You've got me hooked! Please post more soon!

Love it. Hopefully this means, that because they are already married, without Superman confusing things, they should be able to avoid most of the angst of the show. So the whole Luther-wanting-Lois-no-matter-what (no clones

I love Lucy! She can be such a good foil for Lois, and so far that seems to be the role she's playing.
This Lois seems different than the last few Loises you've written...not in a bad way, just a different take. Then again, maybe it's just that this story feels like it's still getting started.
I'm glad she let Clark stay...wonder if that's going to turn into a permanent arrangement?
Looking forward to more! Amber

Ah, so it was both Clark *and* Lucy at the door, just not at the same time. You, know, it's a good thing that Lois is so clear about not wanting unnecessary entanglements with Mr. Kent. Because, you know, having him sleeping in her bed would count as a *necessary* entanglement, right?
This *is* my happily ever after.

Great story - and even better that I got so far behind I could read 5 parts together.
Interesting that they both figured the other would want a divorce. Of course, throwing a baby into the mix was always going to bring out Clark's responsible side.
I was a little surprised by Martha and Jonathan's lack of response. I'm pretty sure if I'd turned up at home married and with parenthood pending, but with no spouse in sight there would have been a few more questions!!
Looking forward to the next part - this is wonderful.

Thanks everyone! Sarah - sounds like, um, fun... Karen - Lucy's timing is better than Jimmy's... Natascha - opening? There's supposed to be an opening? Michael - I've not seen these rules so I know not what is them /innocent smile/. Patrick - /zips lip and smiles/ Artemis - thanks! Amy - hehe - glad you liked that part - I did too. Vive - nice to see you! Thank you! More coming up! Iolan - Queen of Tantalizing moments? I can live with that . My pet peeve too. Tis why DH and I have separate tubes [that and we prefer different flavors]. Games - hmm... could change the outcome of those things couldn't it... Amber - I love this Lucy too. You'll see why in a few chapters... This Lois is several years older than most of my Loises lately... Happy - exactly! Female Hawk - I think there was a lot that we didn't see re: J/M. In celebration of getting 3 chapters done in the last 3 days... I'm posting tonight . Carol

Elisabeth and I read this last night and found it delightfully funny. And we both agree that that is the best way to hand the dreaded Knob-tailed gekco story... James
