Ooh lovely story. I'm a big fan of ''friends'' so I loved the references to that show "Clark," she whispered. "I have a secret." [...]"I was hoping you'd kiss me at midnight." This is so sweet!! And the best reaction Clark could have. And this, this was great. She already knew he was Superman?! That must be the best way to start the new year!! -Camy

Carol!!! That was so wonderful! I almost died when I read the lobster line. (and, like the dork that I am, found myself wondering how plausible it would be that Clark might have watched that episode of Friends, on TV. haha!) I loved the end - so sweet and waffy and... mmmm. YAY! Thanks for sharing with us! ...and thanks for "posting" the other two evil vignettes. hehehe! ~Lara (AKA the mystery author's sidekick...)

"Clark," she whispered. "I have a secret."
His strong arms were still around her waist, her feet still several inches off the ground.
"What's that?" he whispered.
"I was hoping you'd kiss me at midnight."
Clark laughed softly. "I'm only too happy to oblige." He took a deep breath. If they were going to start a New Year telling secrets, maybe it was time to share his.
"I have a secret too, Lois."
"You do?"
He nodded and took a deep breath, determined to tell her before he lost his nerve. "I'm Superman," he said softly.
She giggled. "Wanna know my other secret?"
Puzzled by her reaction, he nodded.
She smiled and leaned in close until her mouth was next to his ear. Barely louder than breathing, she whispered.
"I already know." Priceless, Carol! Absolutely priceless!!!! Ann P.S. Is it common knowledge that lobsters mate for life, or is my ignorance just more proof that I so rarely watch TV? Friends, you say?

That's the only place I'd ever heard it but the wiki[?] said it was a 'common misconception' so.... And yes - Lara - my 'partner in crime'!!! THANKS again! And special thanks to Missy [and JoJo? I've forgotten already!] for betaing the first fic with M/J in it . Carol

"I already know." This last line from Lois was total surprise to me. Very sweet story.

I have a secret, too: I loved this story! Okay, my secret isn't that huge, but my admiration for your writing is. Great fic! "Clark," she whispered. "I have a secret."
His strong arms were still around her waist, her feet still several inches off the ground.
"What's that?" he whispered.
"I was hoping you'd kiss me at midnight." How sweet! <insert big WAFFy sigh> She giggled. "Wanna know my other secret?"
Puzzled by her reaction, he nodded.
She smiled and leaned in close until her mouth was next to his ear. Barely louder than breathing, she whispered.
"I already know." I didn't see it coming. Total surprise for me. PS: If you feel like writing a sequel, I won't complain. Andreia

Awww, this was just adorable! You should have been, but you weren't on my list of suspects! I'm glad it was you, though. You did a wonderful job. I love how you incorporated his thoughts into every second of the countdown. And this: 31,556,926 more seconds until he'd have this opportunity again. Aww, so cute. Perfect! Not that he was harboring a deep, all consuming love for his partner. Of course not! He hasn't been harboring a deep, all consuming love for her since the moment he met her! OK, that part is pretty huge to quote, so I'll just say I LOVED the entire ending sequence!! The other one... I can easily adapt it to a non-Christmas-y type thing but it was too 'dark' for a ficathon fic. Oooo, dark! I love dark stories almost as much as I loved waff...or just as much...or more. I donno, I can't decide, but I love it! Thank you!! Jessi

YAY!! I'm so glad you liked it Jessi! The other one... Well, there was this really tough rescue and Clark needed to talk about it... really wasn't fun and Christmas-y but could have had snow... you know? I'll finish it for you soon - how's that? That'll be four fics... Not bad . Thanks everyone! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I had no idea people would want a sequel, but now a companion piece [Lois' Countdown?] is springing to mind [would that make 5 ficathons for Jessi? None really long enough to be a proper fic...] so I may run with that tomorrow. However, the semester starts Monday so I need to get my websites up and running for my courses and I took an "I" in a course last fall b/c of everything with DS and I HAVE to get that done in the next few weeks so writing [and reading] is going to [very unfortunately] take a back seat . Thanks again! Carol
