when he frowned it was the kind of frown that gave him an intense appearance, and combined with the set of his square jaw would have made any teenage girl's heart do flip-flops. Of course *her* heart wasn't doing flip-flops. She was simply tense because of the importance of what was happening.
Uh huh. Fe fi fo fum, I smell a romance for Velma!

? You can't leave us here! You just can't! razz
We need more. Must have more....

Love the interaction between Oliver and Velma. Yep, there are some sparks flying there, deny it as Velma might.

Clark must be absolutely beside himself with frustration. But he will likely see Lori at the trial. Right?

Right???

More soon, please.

Or we'lll send these guys after you, Nan! wildguy

She wondered what such a link would be like.
I’m thinking (hoping) Velma might have a chance to find out.

Who are Carla and Connor exactly. I seem to have missed that. Carla is a reporter at the Planet, I think. Right?

You can't leave us hanging like that. More soon, please!

Nan, you are evil -- and I mean that in the best possible sense.

"You told me you weren't like other men," she said, shaking her head at him when the storm of laughter had passed.
He grinned at her - a goofy, Clark Kent kind of a grin. "I have a gift for understatement."
"You can say that again," she told him.
"I have a...."
"Oh, shut up."

Thank you, Pam. Evil is a good thing, at least sometimes.

And Carla and Connor are characters in "Home: Obsession". Carla is the office intern and Connor is an old friend of Lori's from college. He was the person who got them into their investigation in "Obsession". Connor is the owner of the Hobs Fitness Center, and he and Carla got together for a six month marriage a few months after the end of the story.

The story subplots are really getting interesting now. So
maybe there will be a Velma/Oliver romance in the
future? Hey, i just thought of something. Ok the
Clark descendents who don't get the super powers but do have the telepathy, if they have a child
with a normal human is there still a chance that
the child will have super powers? Oh and did all
the four children of Lois and Clark have the super powers? I don't remember if that was mentioned.
Looking forward to the next chapter.

The super powers and the telepathy aren't connected. The New Kryptonians that came to find Clark had been telepathic before they got to Earth, so it isn't a result of our yellow sun.

The whole thing follows the dominant/recessive stuff you were taught in school. Super powers and telepathy are dominant. All of Clark's children got the powers and the telepathy, but his grandchildren had a 50/50 chance of getting the super powers and/or the telepathic ones. Statistically, this means that 1/4 will get only the powers, 1/4 will get only the telepathy, 1/4 will get both and 1/4 will get neither. That wasn't quite what happened, because naturally things don't go exactly as statistics predict, and besides, there just might be a slight predisposition for the telepathic and super powered genes to predominate, but it does mean that someone like Oliver, who has the telepathic abilities but no powers can't produce children with the powers. He has a 50% chance of passing along his telepathic abilities to any children, but that's all. Ditto for a super-powered parent who doesn't have telepathy. They can't pass along what they don't have. The only way for that line to reacquire the ability is for one of the kids to marry a distant cousin with super powers.

Does that make sense?

Question--I just went back and looked at the tree--I had forgotten (or maybe never knew) that Lori was a relative of the Lanes--Does SHE know that? Does Clark know that? Just my warped mind wondering. huh

LOL! I said the same thing a couple weeks ago and had to go back and reread all of HOME [not just to find that out - but it was my excuse smile ].

Nan - loving this - need more. Chapters are too short...

I really should wait till things hit the archives...

I'm not all that patient.

Great new installment.
I'm rooting for Velma and Oliver here. Love, love, loooove....

Personally I think, that Meriel and Carla are on the right track to finding Lori since the guy whose house they want to examine is not the guy in whose house Clark now sits...

Ohhh, I'm so excited... Hopefully, we won't have to wait too long for the next part!

"Yeah -- a nice one," Meriel said. "But this Fitzgerald guy lives about a mile from our house. That's scary."

"That's for sure," Carla said. "I guess you can't tell anything about people just from appearances."
Which is really the stock and trade of the entire Super-family, if you think about it...
