The Prince without Cinderella

The prince had once upon a time
A life so easy and divine
A revolution cost his throne,
He lost all taxes and his home.
The people who once loved him well,
Have tied him up and locked his cell.

And sitting behind bars, he is
Still dreaming of his girl's shy kiss.
She came to dance and to his shock
Left him alone at twelve o'clock.
And as she ran, she lost her shoe
The prince's heart was broken, too.
And finding her -try as he might
The girl stayed gone -oh since that night.

And while he searched in every spot
His royal duty he just forgot.
A revolution up and down,
Cost first his throne and then his crown.
He heaves a sigh and rubs his chin.
"Where have you been, oh Brothers Grimm?"
