The story

A response (sort of) to this challenge thread: use a lighter, piggy bank, and scarf in an animal hospital.

Can you clearly imagine what the pig, dog, birds, and Superman all looked like? That and making sure that I didn't lose track of what people were doing were my main concerns while writing this.

So, what'd you think?

This was cute! At first, I thought Inez was dreaming or something. Having it be a villain with a splicing ray is just like the old comics; I could even imagine LnC doing something similar. I also liked Clark comparing Inez to Lois. "Should I have done nothing?" Good question. smile

Thanks for this!

Okay, with a little help from Queen of the Capes' comment I got past my confusion. I still didn't quite get the point when Superman was turned into a traffic light, but I think that I understood what happened. It's a very strange villain you created there. Anyway, now that I understood what the heck you were writing about: nice story.

Thanks, Bakasi. I'm glad the confusion cleared up, but I see what you were talking about with that first post. That sort of confusion about why there are all these spliced creatures would have been mitigated if I have added a bit at the beginning from Superman's (who would have stumbled upon this craziness and been a victim of it) perspective. I'm considering that addition.

Thanks, Queenie. Being on the right side of the cute and silly vs awkward body horror was also a concern of mine. Despite the stoplight/Superman combo being a product of my own mind, it kind of scares me.

For fun: there are red-yellow-blue traffic lights in some parts of Japan.

Cute, strange little tale! I also thought for sure it was going to be some weird stress dream Inez was having. What a sick villain you created! Thanks for sharing!

Like Bakasi, I was totally confused with this Story for the most part. The idea with that villain is so absurd but it's something that could fit somewhere into the later seasons I guess. So, even Superman seems no to be safe from that splicing ray. So the lights of the traffic sign are reacting on his emotions? This tale was really crazy and weird, but in a good way I think.

Up, up and away - to the next fanfic.

Delightful tale. BTW is this the same Inez as in smart kids?

Funny and cute! A great idea for a villain, I'd like to see it more fleshed out!

Hi Bitten!

Quote
It sounded exactly like Inez’s piggy bank did earlier that day when she was collecting her allowance.
Together with the painted-on name and the porcelain skip, I’m thinking this is some kind of dream.

It was quite the surreal trip and probably right at home at the end of Season Four. I was trying to remember if this is Inez from the Smart Kids episode. Giving the traffic light Superman-colors was a nice touch!
