In the spirit of dark humor, I wrote a parody of the song "I'll be Home for Christmas"


I’m stuck home for Christmas
Because of quarantine
We’ll have Zoom
And meeting rooms
And Door Dash deliveries
Christmas Eve will find me
In my jammies
I’m stuck home for Christmas
It’s only you and me.


I’m stuck home for Christmas
It’s a guarantee
Viral cases explode
And restaurants are closed
I’ve seen it on TV
No need for fancy clothing,
There’s no place to go
I’m stuck home for Christmas
Because of COVID 19.

Please note: I'm not depressed. I'm happy to be with my husband and two kids this Christmas, though like everyone, I'm looking forward to more normal life eventually.

Cute. All too true, but cute. I suspect that if you posted a video to YouTube of someone singing it, it would become extremely popular. (I refuse to make the obvious pun -- there are some (admittedly rare) circumstances which even I recognize are inappropriate for punning.)
