Hello again.

Sorry its taken so long for the next post. Work is work and I needed to make a few additions to this short chapter in which we see how life was for Lois during the early years before working for the Daily Planet.

Thanks to AnnieB for the betawork.

MikeM deserves a special mention, the character of Lily was inspired from his own sweet tree-climbing kitty. Thanks Mike!

Comments as always are welcomed! smile1

A writer's job is to think of new plots and create characters who stay with you long after the final page has been read. If that mission is accomplished than we have done what we set out to do, which is to entertain and hopefully educate.

I like the background story you made up on Lois. This was a very nice chapter. Keep them coming!

Glad to see part 2 up! hyper

I really enjoyed this background story for Lois. It explains so much about her fierce competitiveness and determination to be the best, and at the same time her need for a hero. It's sad how both parents failed her simultaneously, yet that led to her personal growth. It made her stronger, and even more determined and independent.

Looking forward to the rest of the story, whenever RL cooperates.

By using the bits of information scattered throughout the first two seasons I was able to come up with this backstory. Will keep working on this story.

Lois did need a hero. Besides her uncle and aunt there was truly no one to rely on but herself. She did not want to be a female version of her father by becoming a doctor as he demanded. In this short story I wanted the readers to clearly see the sharp contrasts between herself and Clark. The most important factor being their parents way of raising them.

It was the only way she could prove to Sam Lane and most importantly to herself that she could have the career that she wanted. Here's a thought; it takes a certain kind of passion and determination to be a doctor. What if Lois did go down that path and was not as good a doctor as she is a reporter?
