What happens when Clark has an attack of concience in And the Answer Is.... and decides to tell Lois Lane the secret he'd been harboring for the better half of two years. You'd be surprised. Story is hereAll comments are welcome! Thank you!

That was a great reveal, I love it when Clark tells her voluntarily (even if it's under duress)! I also loved the way that Lois 'back-burner'ed all her emotions to save Clark's parents. I also appreciated her acknowledgment that telling her wasn't easy for him, instead of punishing him for coming clean which is how her reactions in fic frequently seem to read.
Well done!

This is what should have happened on the show! . Having Clark willing to risk Lois’ life to save his parents always seemed out of character for me. Love how he told her the truth and they figured out a plan together.

YES! Definitely second what E and Jackie said- this feels more realistic and in character for both Clark and Lois than what happened in the show. Love your take, Val.

“Clark?” Lois called his name, meeting his gaze.
“Yeah?”
“Thanks for not caving.” She said softly. “Telling me…it couldn’t have been easy, so thank you.”
“You can thank me when this plan of yours works.” Clark smiled back at her.
“What are we waiting for, partner?” Sooo much better than the show! It makes perfect sense.

Well done! Hey E! I'm so glad you liked my take on ATAI. It always bothered me that Clark was still lying to Lois after she made the ultimate sacrifice to save his parents. He should never have let it go that far.

*Squeeee* I too have wondered why the heck Clark didn't tell her when she was selflessly willing to risk her life to save his parents. I mean, good grief! What does she have to do to prove that she loves him?! Ok, brief rant over. Anyway, now I feel greedy because I want more... :P

Definitely agree, this is SO much better than the show! Nice to see Clark reacting with his brain and his heart, and Lois not lose her temper after his revelation.

Nice reveal! Too bad canon Clark couldn't muster up the ability to tell Lois at this point. Which he totally should have. If Lois HAD died he would never have been able to live with himself.
Thanks for the fun story. Sorry it took so long to get to. Summer and kids and the like...

It's completely out of character. I mean what does a girl got to do to prove she loves him if not sacrafice her life? How he didn't tell her the truth at that point I'm not sure but glad you liked my take on things.

I don't get how the show writers thought. This is a good idea. Let's have Clark sacrifice Lois in order to save his parents. Glad you liked the little ficlet.

Lois put it all on the line and he still couldn't tell her the truth? Pffft! I call b/s...which only made the anger/frustration and agony, even more, when he threw a tantrum about Lois turning his proposal down in the next episode. What more does she have to do to prove she loves you, you big dope?

Hey cuidadora Thanks so much for reading and commenting. Yeah, as mentioned previously the whole idea that he'd sacrifice Lois' life for his parents' seemed really out of character to me. She proved her love for Clark with the fact that she was willing to put it all on the line to save his parents. He didn't have to let her go through with it. Especially not without telling her the truth.
