I wasn't intending to write anything, but this just kinda popped out. I think maybe my mind wanders when watching the kids at the kiddie pool. Hope it brightened up your summer just a little bit!

This was great! I would totally have messed with my friends the same way if I were in her position. I love it!

Poor Laura, I felt her second-hand embarrassment but she held her own with style!

Hahaha oh my gosh, this was so perfect! rotflol

First of all, I'm so glad you returned to this universe again, even if it was just for a brief clip. But even beyond that, you've made this such a perfect little fic! It's got this sweet, innocent, warm, coming-of-age vibe, and I just love how you had Laura toy with her friends like that. Getting Clark in on the joke was just the icing on the cupcake.

Also, Clark admitting that the worst he's overheard was from Lois lol clap. Pure perfection! And now I'm wondering what she could have said... evil

Of course, this has only left me wanting more out of this universe. Please don't hesitate to come back for more! Even if it's a smaller gem, like this one!

Fabulous as always!

This is delightfully funny! Loved how Laura teased her friends and communicated with Clark. rotflol

Glad she got her sense of humor back so quickly following the aftermath of the family secret.

Father-daughter bonding as only Clark and his daughter could do!

I reaaaallly enjoyed this!!

CLARK: No. I'm just worried I'm a jinx.
JONATHAN: A jinx?
CLARK: Yeah. Let's face it, ever since she's known me, Lois's been kidnapped, frozen, pushed off buildings, almost stabbed, poisoned, buried alive and who knows what else, and it's all because of me.

Aww, Cindy, this is absolutely awesome. Thanks for the little ficlet. This had the perfect balance of WAFF, humor and even a little nod to the father/ daughter relationship for Father's Day.

I love the teasing Laura does and her friends' reactions.

Great job!

Awww, this was just perfect! I probably would have messed with my friends too, if I were Laura. What a fun and funny story! I loved it! Please let your muse wander even further while watching the kids at the pool so we can have more stories like these!

My favorite part:

Quote
Laura preferred to remain mysterious. Rather than answer, she just gave a smirk.

“Well you have to admit, he’s no Superman,” a third friend said.

Reminds us all that we rarely have all the information on things when we comment on them.

It also reminds me of a true story about Chet Atkins, arguably the best country-style guitarist ever. Seems Chet was on a cruise ship with his wife back in the mid-60s, and on a stroll around the deck he found a cheap guitar belonging to one of the crew members. Just for grins, he sat down and played it for a few minutes, then put it back. A fellow passenger - who didn't have all the information he needed - stepped up to Chet and said, "You're pretty good on that thing, mister, but you're no Chet Atkins."

Great story, Cindy. I, too, liked Laura teasing her father from afar, especially when he had a hard time staying detached and heroic. And their rapport afterward made me jealous. My girls rarely treat me that well, so I'm glad Clark doesn't have that particular problem.

I'd love to see more from you, and soon. You write very well, and most imaginatively. I see a Kerth Humor nom in your future.
