Maybe not what the challenge was meant to be, but my muse is, apparently, inspired by the fact that my horticulture skills are only slightly more impressive than Lois'.

Oh DC, it fits perfectly. My first thought was Lois and her lack of cooking skills but figured Clark would assure her that he would do the cooking, then thought Lois and her plant killing skills but could not figure out how that would stop Clark from marrying her and then staggered to the finish (punch) line!

Oh DC, it fits perfectly. My first thought was Lois and her lack of cooking skills but figured Clark would assure her that he would do the cooking, then thought Lois and her plant killing skills but could not figure out how that would stop Clark from marrying her and then staggered to the finish (punch) line!

There was a split second at the end where I genuinely thought Martha could be a serial killer, and in that moment I saw the heart of darkness... And then I died laughing, because it was hilarious and of course Martha is a plant killer! Poetic too. Boys do tend to marry their Mama's. Fantastic job!

The misdirection, the confusion and uncertainty over the identities of these two, the contrast of Jonathan the plant-grower loving Martha the plant-killer, cooker, and eater - excellent! Your muses are taunting mine now, and I'm not sure mine will accept this state of affairs. I may have to finish that Halloween-type story just to get them out of my head.
