Hi FoLCs!

There's a line in "Nothing is Impossible" that has been tormenting me for a while, but I just don't have time to tackle it yet as a stand-alone story.

Quote
I used to read out loud to my sister, Lucy. One day I was reading a biography of Nellie Bly and when I read the chapter about her going undercover in an insane asylum, Lucy had burst out laughing. I asked her what was so funny and she said, ‘She’s you, Lois! You would totally do that.’

So would anyone be interested in writing a Soulmates story with Lois as Nellie Bly? My first thought is that Clark could be a rival journalist posing as a doctor at the hospital.

Oooo! That has the potential to be a pretty intense story. It's very tempting... Maybe once my to-do pile shrinks a bit. In the meantime, I'd be interested in anyone else's take on it, as well. smile

Very interesting premise.

My take would be rather than using her insane asylum investigation, to use her trip around the world, which she did the next year. She beat the fictional Phileas Fogg by eight days. And since that story was written by Jules Verne whom she met on the trip, it could make for an interesting encounter if H.G. Wells shows up. And lots of opportunities to meet Clark and his alter-ego, whom she might have inspired...

Perhaps add Elizabeth Bisland who traveled around the world at the same time as Bly. She returned a few days after Bly.

A writer's job is to think of new plots and create characters who stay with you long after the final page has been read. If that mission is accomplished than we have done what we set out to do, which is to entertain and hopefully educate.

Yes, and how about an incarnation of Linda King as Elizabeth?

If anyone wants this plot bunny, go for it! I don't have the time in the near future.
