This was an emotion-filled, powerful story that had me hooked from the beginning. It took a lot of interesting twists and turns. These last three chapters are very powerful. You express Kal's pain and discomfort very clearly. So sad that his efforts to help were met by overwhelming fear that actually hindered his ability to give aid. And his and Lois's futures seem very bleak. Perhaps this is the best that could have been hoped for under the circumstances, still it is a bittersweet ending that leaves me yearning for more. Would love to know what happens next to both Kal and Lois. Wondering if your mentioning Nightfall is foreshadowing of the third part of the trilogy? And a way for them to find happiness? Absolutely the intent is to believe Nightfall will unite them. I don't want to write 8 year long stories (the length of time it takes me) - so it will be shorter - more to the point - but it will happen, and soon. When I started LST I had one kid - now I have 2 near adult offsprings - my life is very different. I should be able to devote time to the 'coda' of the story. Last edited by L; 03/19/17 09:57 AM. Morgana A writer's job is to think of new plots and create characters who stay with you long after the final page has been read. If that mission is accomplished than we have done what we set out to do, which is to entertain and hopefully educate.

Quote He refused to go near the clone’s sleeping chamber. Yeah. Probably also want to keep the UV away. And then burn down the entire wing. Quote "I - am grateful - beyond grateful that you are here. It must fill you with a lot of terrible memories," he said hesitantly. They could try being penpals? Quote "Thank you for that, Lois." "I'm really good at finding self-justifications when I feel badly about things." Quote we have put all those who invaded your world in a prison – and they will never be able to harm you again. Fort Rozz? Yeah, that should work… Part 56: Quote Those times, he had been forced to lay his hands on people – and that had never gone down well - he terrified every single human being, with the exception of Lois Lane, and he even frightened her on a visceral level. Part 57: Quote He could not imagine ever being bonded to anyone because of his feelings – but he could never imagine being with her either. He is good at rationalizing. Quote the part of her that still remained alive after all her brutal experiences mourned the loss of ‘the one’ she was supposed to be with. Quote “Why?” “Nightfall might come to your world and if it does, we will help. We won’t all return, but some of us will – to stop the asteroid.” Ooooh! Twist! Quote She reached out and gripped his hand. “I don’t blame you, anymore,” she smiled. “I forgive you for being easily fooled. You were young – and... I honestly don’t see how you could have seen this coming.” Yeah, I guess it helps if you grow up with television shows about evil twins and clones. Quote Her words overwhelmed him, and he placed his other hand on top of hers for a brief moment. “Your words honor me,” -Fin Congratulations on finishing this!
