Just an idea. What if Clark gets exposed to red Kryptonite, and then the next thing he knows, he wakes up and it's one week later, and for some reason Lois & Jimmy aren't talking to him. They can't even stand to be in the same room as him. The story then follows Clark as he tries to work out what he did during that week, and set things right and we discover what he did as he does.
