I remember reading a fan fic where Lois and Clark were pen pals before they actually met, but I can't remember what it was called. The situation was they didn't know each others names. I was partly reminded of this because in the recently published young adult novel about Lois, ''Fallout", she has a secure instant messenger correspondence with a person who goes by SmallvilleGuy, who I am sure is Clark even though Lois does not yet know this.

The one I can think of is The Penfriend by Wendy Richards. The pen names they used were Tornado(Lois) and Scribe(Clark). Wendy wrote a companion piece called The Penfriend: The History which contained some of the correspondence between Tornado and Scribe.
