I've been thinking about underused opportunities a little and came up with this. Call it a challenge or conversation topic: Clark is in his 50's and has been married to Lois for twenty-some years. One day he walks into the room and his globe activates with one last stored message for him. - What was the message?
- Who was it from?
- Why was there such a delay before this message played?

Why was there such a delay before this message played? First kid comes of age by Kryptonian standards?

Why was there such a delay before this message played? First kid comes of age by Kryptonian standards? Jor-El: Upon your grandson's first birthday, you must perform the birth-bonding ritual with his birth wife and place him into a space ship to send him off to another planet to be raised by strangers. When he comes to the age of his maturity, his birth wife will seek him out and test him to see if he is husband material. I know you understand this custom first hand, Kal-El, as you and Zara experienced it. Traditionally, this only happens every other generation as not all Kryptonian women are able to find their birth husbands and must settle for their security officers instead, which is why I did not suggest it for the birth of your son. It is also how Kryptonian colonists have populated the planets of this and other solar systems for millennia. I know you are up to the challenge, Kal-El. In the next message, I will explain how to build your space cradle so that he may survive his journey.
VirginiaR. "On the long road, take small steps." -- Jor-el, "The Foundling" --- "clearly there is a lack of understanding between those two... he speaks Lunkheadanian and she Stubbornanian" -- chelo.

"My Son: If you are seeing this message, you have finally reached sexual maturity and are now capable of producing children..." Clark chuckled to himself as he reflected on his three grown children. Then IT hit. "UH OH...Lois! LOIS!! You'd better get in here!"

"UH OH...Lois! LOIS!! You'd better get in here!" Pon Farr? Are Kryptonians and Vulcans related? Or was "IT" the revelation about why their kids all liked Hawaiian shirts? Joy, Lynn

Joy, Lynn It took me a few minutes to get it and I was trying to think of how to post back about. Lynn's response was hysterical and much better than anything I could have posted on the topic (the Hawaiian shirt part). Mike

It turns out "Dan" was actually a time-travelling Clark in a clever disguise. No wonder none of us could recognize him: he took off his glasses! Joy, Lynn
