Have you ever written a fic and had characters sort of 'act' on their own before you can stop them? That's how Clark 'accidentally' heard the baby's heartbeat. I thought of different scenarios, and thought of dragging out him knowing -- but darn that super hearing. Gets in the way every time! wink
