Recently, a rash of high tech gas theft has been happening locally.

For more details go here Gas theft

The nationality of the owners seems to be a key to me, but that fact is not part of my question.

For clarification purposes...
tell the manager that something is wrong
or
tell the your friends where to get free gas.

To me, the answer seems obvious.

I am totally appalled that, apparently, so many individuals would just gas up and not tell the manager that something wasn't wrong with the pumps!

Heck, even if it was Cost-Mart gas or Lextrol, I'd still tell the managers!

James, who is appalled & shock

Yeah, James, that was my first thought while reading the article - before I even read the poll. I just don't understand some people. frown

People just don't want to understand in the long run you wind up paying for it because prices go up or the business closes and you have to go further to buy it. That is the same that happens with fake lawsuits. People who sue and say the insurance company pays for it are wrong. We pay for it because the price for insurance goes up, if your suing a business they wind up charging more to recover for paying higher premiums.

Bottom line stealing is stealing no matter how you do it and we all wind up paying for it in the end.

I notice one brave soul marked the tell a friend option.

I am really interested in why, but don't expect them to say anything.

I noticed this pole is very restrictive. There are only two options. Some other possible options are:

3. Tell no one.
4. Curse, swear and cuss alot because now you have to do something to pay and you just know this is going to be a hastle and you really don't have the time for this.

(btw, I'd choose number 4 laugh )

I think that it's because the question was to vague. When reading it, I understood the question as telling your friends about the story, not as 'tell your friends, so that they can steal gas.'

That could be a reason why you'll see a few votes for that option.

There is absolutely no way I'd ever take advantage of this kind of situation because there are security cameras and it is wrong to steal no matter how expensive fuel is days, I don't want that on my conscience.

Ha ha ML! smile1 I loved your suggestion...and yes that would be me. My conscience wouldn't allow me to take gas like that. So, I would be jumping up and down going - great! Now I'm the one who has to pay for my honesty by wasting a half an hour of my time to pay for my free gas - ugh! grumble
