Okay, so last night I wiped my computer due to some chronic problems. And it's working great (so far) now that it's been reincarnated, but I think I might've messed up when I backed up my music files.

I thought that if I copy/pasted the iTunes file from my C drive onto a memory stick, I would save the songs I have. But I think I was wrong because I don't see them anywhere! I have all my songs on my iPod still, but I can't figure out a way to get them from my iPod onto my iTunes.

Can anyone give me a hand or am I stuck replacing my music collection? Most of them come from CDs I own, so it's not like it would cost me anything, but it would be extremely time consuming.

Well Beth, I've never used it but there are tools out there to do this sort of work.

Here is one: SharePod and there are others.

If you Google "music from ipod to itunes" you will see more as well as lots of step-by-step instructions to do this manually (in case the tools make you virus-nervous).
