Does anyone know what 961 Registry / 961 component means ?

This came up on my laptop today when I started it. I did notice after that laptop booted up a windows update had to configure. So far the laptop has been actting normal I just was wondering what the above was.

Error 961 is caused by missing system files or broken system registry structures. It basically means that some sort of change hasn't processed properly. If you start seeing it repeatedly you need to worry, but my guess is that you got it because the old versions of the files needed to be modified to use the upgrade.

Thank You Marcus that puts my mind at ease because it hasn't happened again this morning when I booted up.

I am currently using a laptop with Vista and, after every update that needs to be installed during Shut Down, when the computer is turned on again, the computer shows a message (that I can't read) on a black screen, and then continues normally. I'm assuming it is something similar to your case, and I've never had any problems after them.
