Can anybody tell me how to extract a particular paused-clip from a video and paste it in MSPaint?

I tried the usual PrintScreen technique from my Media Player Video but the picture goes black once I've saved the file.

Help! I've chosen some nice clips for Caption Competition Game but am unable capture them from the playing/paused episodes. smile

Do you have Windows Movie Maker? That one will also, next to making vids/trailers, allow you to make photos of scenes. It's such a neat trick. laugh And you can save it directly to your personal folder, without interferance of another program.

I have Windows Movie Maker but it doesn't accept DivX/ Avi files. Do I need a special codec for that? confused

That is very well possible. I believe (and this is years ago already goofy ) that I had to install a codec for WMM to work properly. If you google it, you'll get lots of options and can download what suits your needs best. Good luck!
