Hey, could someone tell me how to insert images into postings? I tried to insert a picture of a slot canyon into my last posting to Honeymoon in Vegas, but I couldn't get it to work.

Hi!

Right click on the picture you want to post and copy its address. Click in 'IMAGE' and paste it. Hit OK.

OR

Write [img] before the address and [/img] after it. For example, I want to post a picture with this address:
http://tn7.deviantart.com/300W/images3.deviantart.com/i/2004/151/0/6/slot_canyon.png

[img] "http://tn7.deviantart.com/300W/images3.deviantart.com/i/2004/151/0/6/slot_canyon.png" [/img]
P.S.: Don't use the quotation marks.

You have to put the picture into an online archive (such as photobucket) first, then you can link to it as described above. You can't link to a picture on your own computer.

For example, I've put a picture into my archive on Photobcket, so I can put in a link to it like this

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/MarcusRowland/planet.jpg

Doing that means that you won't see it unless you click on the link. Alternatively I can use the image button and paste that link into it and have the pictue show like this

I'm going to resurrect this thread.

Is there a way when using [IMG] to tell it to show smaller?
I put some photos onto photobucket, and resized them there, but when I checked them in my post preview, they were still showing as huge. Is it something like [IMG=size]?

I don't think you're allowed to resize the image within the post. It has to be resized and stored at an online photo storage site before you link it.

Why don't you give it a try and insert it in this post, and maybe we can help you? Give the address of the original and of the resized images.
