I think a few more details would help our resident tech experts. smile

Something like:
What OS (Operating System) you're working with. I'm guessing you're talking Windows so a version (e.g. XP Pro) would be very good.

Another thing that may help with explanations/solutions is if you could specify how much RAM you have.

Also, when you say 'hanging' do you mean the applications freezes or you get the Blue Screen of Death or the application shuts down?

Best of luck!

Nathalie, how much memory do you have? WMM is a very memory-hungry application.

Second, do you have many other programs open when you use it? It will slow down severely if you have a lot open.

You still haven't said what you mean by 'hanging'. When I'm using Movie Maker, at times it will freeze. That means that nothing happens for a minute or two. And then it finishes whatever it's been doing in the background and starts to work again. On the other hand, if you mean it crashes, that's a different matter.

I've also experienced Movie Maker 2 crashing with a frustrating frequency. It's not bad enough to keep me from using it, but it does get annoying and has instilled in me the habit of saving my stuff every five minutes or so.

Honestly, I think it's that the program is very tempermental, and there are so many chances for it to get hung up on the various codecs out there.

Sorry I don't have any good advice, but you could check out Papa John\'s Movie Maker 2 Web Site to see if any advice applies to your problem.
