Happy World IPv6 Launch day! (Well, it's still June 5th where I am, but it is already the 6th in some parts of the world.)

Joy,
Lynn

p.s., for the non-computer geeks among us, IP (or Internet Protocol) is one of the very major protocols used to allow communication among computers. The old version of the protocol, IPv4, had pretty much run out of available addresses. It also had some other limitations, such as a lack of encryption and poor handling of real time data. The new version, IPv6, was designed to overcome those problems. (Don't ask me what happened to IPv5; it never got off the ground.) June 6th is the day that a number of major Internet players (Cisco, Google, Facbook, and Bing, to name a few) are permanently enabling IPv6 on their products and services. If the transition goes smoothly, the average end user won't notice the switch.
