Back then mild mannered Clark even had an argument with Mr. Stern about his appearance:

But cut him some slack: Lois had broken off their engagement and left the country; he was filling in as Editor while Perry recovered from chemoterapy; he had no time to be Superman... Poor guy was going crazy. razz razz razz At least the "super-mullet phase" had good stories. <sigh> sad
