I have to say that I cringed at the super-mullet.

Armor? Uh... Isn't he the Man of "Steel"? Why would he need armor?

Me, too. That was simply awful.

Of course, none of them were as nice looking as our Clark.

Back then mild mannered Clark even had an argument with Mr. Stern about his appearance:



But cut him some slack: Lois had broken off their engagement and left the country; he was filling in as Editor while Perry recovered from chemoterapy; he had no time to be Superman... Poor guy was going crazy. At least the "super-mullet phase" had good stories. <sigh>
