Some of you might remember that, during the time I was most active around here, I was a high school student. This place kept me sane through these years and the IRC crew kept me company while I was studying Advanced Maths and other fun stuff for the university admission exams. wink

Sooo, I thought you guys had to know how all that ended.

I'm not sure I ever mentioned it here, but I spent the last five years studying Pharmacy in the University of Athens. I got my degree in September and then took further exams to get my work licence. My results came out on Friday, and I passed them too! So my adventure in education is over. smile

Next stop: looking for a job.

Wish me luck! smile

Lois: You know, I have a funny feeling that you didn't tell me your biggest secret.

Clark: Well, just to put your little mind at ease, Lois, you're right.

Congratulations! Wow - pharmacy is not an easy thing. You have my respect.

Now, I don't know if you've ever read the story of Rip Van Winkle. It's by an American author, Washington Irving, and the crux of the plot is that Rip Van Winkle drinks some beer and sleeps through the entire American Revolution. There's more to it than that, but good old Rip sleeps for twenty years.

The whole point of this digression is that I was going through my cartoon-a-day calendar and what should be there but this:

INTERIOR: A COURTROOM. A PHARMACIST is on trial.

PROSECUTING ATTORNEY, CROSS-EXAMINING THE DEFENDANT, HOLDING A PILL VIAL AND GESTURING DRAMATICALLY: "Now, I ask you, don't you feel that 60,000 milligrams was an excessive dose for Mr. Van Winkle?"

May your career be medication-error-free!

Congratulations! Great accomplishment!

Now that you're out of school, here's a philosophy that's served me well:
A family friend once told me that achieving a degree doesn't mean that you're "educated". Rather, it demonstrates you have a "capacity to learn".
And it's been the key to my career as an engineer.

Good luck!
