(Although, to be fair to Perry, I don't believe he thinks of himself as "the King", and I can't imagine him being disappointed to see an Elvis tribute on TV...)

No, I don't think he thinks of himself as "the King" either; the cartoon king's reaction made me think of Perry because their reactions would be precise opposites of one another. The idea of royalty probably wouldn't even enter Perry's head when he heard the phrase "the King" -- well, unless it were in the context of breaking news and he were full into "editor mode".
