Elisabeth's uncle passed away Sunday night, so we're also trying to decide who, if anyone, will be traveling back to Wisconsin for the funeral. At the shortest it would be a three day trip, with one day driving out and one day driving back. At this point we still don't know when the funeral is so it's too early to make plans.

Thanks again for your prayers,

James

I'm so sorry, James. So much has happened to your family in recent years.

James, Elisabeth, I'm so sorry. Y'all have really gotten the short end of the stick lately. May you rest in the One Who loves unconditionally and Who will comfort without preconditions.

Bless you and your family.

I know how it feels when all of a sudden life decides it's time to come down on you hard. I went through that in late 2005.

All my prayers that you can weather whatever is being thrown at you, James. Eventually it lets up, or so they tell me.

Nan

You've all been under a big strain recently. I just went through it with my mother's death and funeral. Major considerations on the trip is weather and driving conditions. I'm also not in favor of taking children to funerals and most particularly burials. In our case, our two adult children who remember their grandmother with fondness flew out from the East Coast and left their families at home. It was easier on us and them without our grandkids too. They managed to fly between snow storms. Also our grandchildren were sick at home, so it would have been real torture on them to bring them all the way to California.
Your family has a great excuse to not go so think about that.
Our condolences
