I noticed this the first time I saw the ep, but tonight, I just had to post.
For those not familiar with NCIS, it's similar to CSI but with Navy cops who investigate deaths, crimes etc. related to Navy and Marines.
Leroy Jethro Gibbs is the head bossman of the team in the show [the... Grissom if you will, but better IMO
].
Abby Sciuto is their Goth forensic scientist. In this scene, she's working in her lab on one of her machines [which she occasionally calls her children or her soldiers etc and she talks to them regularly - no, she's not crazy, really] - the mass spectrometer perhaps - and says:
Gibbs: Broken?
Abby: Does a baby change it's own diapers? Nay. Does it burp and feed itself? I don't think so. It takes a lot of TLC to keep my children functioning in the lab of Abby. Or
Labby as I like to call it. [whispers to machine she's been working on] You're my favorite.
Gibbs:
Labby?[scene continues]
I think the writers have been to our boards. Okay, probably not, but still fun.
